IdeaScale: New York State Senate

Obama’s administration has set the tone for open participation in government and the tech community has been moving fast to create tools that enhance citizen participation. Sites like the Citizen Briefing Book and change.gov are making feedback communities and participation the norm.

A notable example is the NY State Senate: they recently launched a revamp of their website on the Drupal platform, partnering with Advomatic. The new site has tons of community building features and social networking goodness to engage the public. To collect ideas, they’ve chosen IdeaScale to quickly build communities around a particular topic – the first of which is property tax ideas.

Congrats to the NY State Senate!
